Armed Forces Chiefs of Staff Day staff meeting

On the occasion of the Armed Forces Planners' Day, the Headquarters of the Hungarian Defence Forces Force Planning Group Headquarters held a ceremonial meeting on Wednesday, September 1, in the Stefánia Palace - Honvéd Cultural Centre in Budapest.

The event was attended by Géza Györki, Executive President, Attila Miskolczi, Vice President for Sport and József Serflek, Vice President for Social Relations, on behalf of the Association of Law Enforcement Trainers, as invited guests.

As reported by honvédelem.hu, the welcome letters of Dr. Tibor Benkő, Minister of Defence, and Lieutenant General Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, Commander of the Hungarian Defence Forces, were read out at the meeting. "In recent years, a historic era has begun in the Hungarian Defence Forces", they wrote, stressing that the force planners are not only witnesses of the ongoing reform, but also driving forces behind it.

In his speech, Lieutenant General Zoltán Mihócza, Chief of Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, said that capability development is a continuous process in all the forces. He stressed that the Kecskemét International Airshow and Military Technology Demonstration illustrated how the Hungarian Defence Forces are received by society. "They ask us questions, they are interested, we are in the spotlight. This is a huge achievement and a huge responsibility. We must act in the way the nation expects us to act. We took an oath to defend our country," he said.

The event was attended by Dr. Gáspár Maróth, Government Commissioner, retired General László Tömböl, Senior Advisor of the Prime Minister's Office, Defence Development Secretariat, former Chief of Staff of the Hungarian Defence Forces, and Bertalan Farkas, retired Brigadier General, the first Hungarian astronaut.
